DEAN WHILE HE QUITS HIS JOB

For some reason, quitting my job reminded me of this red-headed kid from high school. He was a big, chubby guy with freckles and pimples and a dirty red afro. He was one of those guys who you see and you think: this arsehole wasn’t raised right. He cut himself a lot and we’d always catch him touching himself underneath his desk while grinning. He was expelled for chucking a shit in front of the classroom. He told us all it was our fault.
My marketing director looked over my resignation letter. “You sure?”
“Yup.”
She looked over it again. “You sure?”
“Yup.”
“What’s wrong?”
I shrugged. “Nothing’s wrong.”
“Bullshit. What’s wrong?”
“Far out I told you nothing’s wrong.”
She grinned. “You got a new job offer.”
“Nope.”
“You were abused. You were sexually harassed.”
“Nope.”
“How long were you here for, Dean? Just a year, right?”
“A bit over a year.”
She looked over my resignation letter again. “You know I won’t be writing you a reference letter.”
“What’s a reference letter?”
“I don’t like your sarcasm.” She put the resignation letter down and glanced outside her office. She sighed. “This is a busy period. You’ll be dumping a lot of shit on your colleagues.”
“It will always be a busy period.”
“Is it me? Do I annoy you?”
I looked her over. “You did annoy me, but no, from the bigger picture, it wasn't you.”
She laughed and then bit her lip. “You pissed me off the most. I let you get away with a lot, you know. Fine. I’ll give this letter to HR. You’ll have a month to wrap everything up.”
I stood up and left her to her emails.

Great minds must think alike haha. I've given up my soul destroying desk just just a few weeks ago to focus on my writing... which is coming along great and the hunger pangs are starting to fade.
Anyway, I've just realised I've been reading your blog for four years or so. Well, there's a few things I need to ask you, and public forums probably not the best place.
