TWO GIRLS ONE VALLEY
October 2nd 2009 17:41
Dear Brisbane. Life has become scattered lately. I ended up in the Valley with a few friends from high school, drinking, talking, not listening. We went to a night club that used to be a church; “I need a drink,” my friend kept saying, “just one more drink and I’ll be able to talk to chicks easier.” We found a seat and watched these two girls intimately dancing with each other. We watched them for a good ten minutes.
I still find myself thinking about Japan. I have hundreds of photos from the place in my room somewhere. Sometimes I’m afraid of looking at photos or letters taken during happy moments in life. I can never really tell if they’ll make me feel better or worse.
“You know,” my friend sort of slurred, “if we really wanted to say everything we actually wanted to say, we’d actually say it.”
I ignored him. Something about that moment seemed bland. I stood up and stepped forward and looked at the DJ as he danced a little while holding his beer.
